Cuatro Cuatros

‘180°’  is a modular shelving system by Valencia based office Cuatro Cuatros. The design studio was formed in 2010 by four industrial designers from Valencia, Spain: Cristina Ródenas Lechiguero, Marina Francés Sáez, Isabel Cortina Sáez & Adrián Martínez Almonacid. Their designs supply new solutions to everyday objects without being striking. The 180° shelf is based on an illustration of  Zöllner, first published in 1860. It deals with an optical illusion (the original drawing at read more) whereby  in an arrangement of horizontal and vertical lines, the horizontal lines become optically crooked. A great starting point for a piece of furniture.
